The PSNI are investigating a car-jacking which took place in west Belfast last night.

The incident happened at a filling station on the Andersonstown Road just after 9pm.

Two men, one of whom was carrying a knife, and both with their faces covered, entered the passenger side of a VW Golf and attacked the driver.

The driver was hit a number of times and threatened with the knife before exiting the car and running into the filling station shop.

The two men in the stolen car were then seen heading out of Belfast along the Andersonstown Road.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives would ask any witnesses to this incident or anyone who has any information which would be of assistance to their investigation to contact them at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 177729/01/21."
