The family of a Northern Irish man from who died in a crash in Wales have paid tribute to him.

Motorbiker Michael Peel (47) died in a collision with another motorcycle in Corris, Gwynedd, on Sunday.

The father-of-one was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services and an air ambulance were tasked to the incident.

A spokesperson for his family said Mr Peel was “much loved” by his wife Claire and daughter Imogen.

The statement added: "He worked as an IT product manager and had a love for his motorbike, reading, films and a recent interest in DIY.

"We would like to give our profound thanks to the emergency services and the members of the public who assisted Michael at the scene of this tragic accident.”

The family also thanked the emergency services who responded.

Tributes were also paid on social media.

John Barnett said: "Thinking of Claire and their daughter. Claire is one of the nicest people I've met and she and their young daughter have mine and my family's support."

Another, Meirwen Owen, posted: "You are in my thoughts - he was so young."
