PSNI launch probe after man attacked by gang of five with baseball bat

The PSNI are investigating after a man was beaten with a baseball bat in Newtownards last night.
At around 7:20pm it was reported a gang of five men pulled two men from a vehicle in the Weavers Grange area before attacking one with the bat.
15 minutes later another report was made to police that a man who was located in his vehicle had been assaulted.
Police and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene and the victim in his car, who is aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for an arm injury.
The police said one of the suspects is described as being in his mid 40s to 50s, was wearing a grey coloured tracksuit and a black hat.
Another suspect is described as being aged in his 30s with a shaved head and was wearing dark grey tracksuit bottoms with a red and dark grey top.
Police say they believe both reports relate to the same incident.
The police have asked anyone who saw what happened, or who has information about the incident, to call 101 quoting reference number 1850 01/04/21.
