The victim was later taken to hospital for treatment to a leg wound


The PSNI have appealed for information after a man was shot in Bangor, County Down.

The attack took place at around 9.10pm last night (Monday) in the Balligan Gardens area of the town.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was taken to hospital after he was shot in the lower part of his right leg.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Anyone with any information about this incident, or who may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to call 101 quoting the reference number 2156 of 05/07/21.

“Alternatively, a report can be made online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
