Man stabbed in head and back in violent gang attack in Cregagh area of Belfast

Incident happened at around 11pm last night in the Greenway area of east Belfast


The police are appealing for information after a man was repeatedly stabbed in the Cregagh area of Belfast last night.

The incident happened at around 11pm in the Greenway area.

The PSNI said the victim, aged in his 40s, was chased from Killagan Bend to Greenway by a gang of men.

When they caught up with the man he was violently assaulted, suffering a number of stab wounds to his back and head.

A spokesperson added: “He was taken to hospital by colleagues from the Ambulance Service, where he remains today in a condition which is described as stable.

“I am appealing to anyone with information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1809 03/05/21.”
