A man has been left "traumatised" after a robbery in County Tyrone in which he was forced onto the ground by armed men.

The incident happened at around 6pm last night in the Castletown Road area of Aughnacloy.

Four men entered the man's home wearing masks, with two of the men carrying weapons, before they forced the occupant to lie face down on the ground while they ransacked his home.

The men later made off with the sum of money.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "This was a traumatic ordeal for the victim who was in his own home, a place where he rightly deserves to feel safe. Thankfully, he was not physically injured.

"Our enquiries continue this morning, and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area yesterday evening at around 6pm and saw any suspicious activity, or has information about what happened to get in touch with our detectives in Mid Ulster on 101 quoting reference number 1560 of 11/01/21."
