GAA shock Former Tyrone All-Ireland winner Mickey Coleman recovering from heart attack
Now living in New York, Coleman is said to be responding well to medical treatment
Tributes have been pouring in for County Tyrone GAA star Mickey Coleman, after he suffered a suspected heart attack in New York.
Originally from Ardboe, the 41-year-old won the All Ireland twice with his county, back in 2003 and 2005.
It is understood the dad-of-two is responding well to medical treatment after what reports say was a ‘massive’ cardiac arrest in the US.
The talented musician, who performs regularly in New York, where he moved when he was in his 20s, had also been coaching Gaelic football in New York.
He is also the president of a major building company and is a member of Club Tyrone GFC in the city.
In a statement, a spokesperson for his home club of Ardboe O’Donovan Rossa posted: ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with Mickey Coleman who is critically ill in hospital in New York.
‘Mickey has represented Ardboe O'Donovan Rossa at all levels and succeeded in many battles. We wish him every strength in his current fight and ask for all your prayers for Mickey and family at this time.

Chairman of the club, Malachy Ó Néill, told the Irish News: "Michael Coleman is held in the highest regard by everyone associated with the club, not simply for his prowess on the field of play but also as a larger than life character, a superb musician, successful businessman and loyal club sponsor.
"While he’s spent much of his adult life in the States, he’s continued to champion and support Gaelic games both in his native parish and in his adopted home.
"Most importantly, Mickey is a proud family man and our thoughts and prayers are with him and the huge Coleman family circle both at home and abroad at this difficult time."
Sinn Fein’s Barry McElduff also took to Twitter to voice his support for Mr Coleman.
He said: ‘Thoughts & paidreacha with Mickey Coleman & his family. A proud Ardboe man & a multi-talented son of Tyrone with a great personality. Hugely popular person in New York and USA where Mickey is currently in hospital. Entertained us all online during lockdown with music and song.'
