A Belfast man who murdered a man in Southampton in 1996, who went on the run last week after absconding while on temporary release from prison, has been returned to HMP Maghaberry.

It’s understood to be the sixth time Samuel McKinley has absconded from custody.

The 57-year-old went on the run last Thursday.

McKinley’s two sons, Jonathan and Samuel McKinley, have also been convicted of murder.

They killed Eastleigh newsagent Choudhry Zishan in March 2014, beating their victim to death and stealing money from him before spending the money on alcohol.
