Serious injuries Woman (50s) airlifted to hospital following crash with tractor in Donegal

A woman has been airlifted to hospital following a serious accident on Co Donegal this afternoon.

The woman, who is in her 50s, was involved in a collision between a car and a tractor at Casey, Dunfanaghy.

The casualty, who was the driver of the car, was taken from the side of the road by the Rescue 118 helicopter based in Sligo to Letterkenny University Hospital.

A spokesperson said the woman suffered serious injuries.

The male driver of the tractor received medical treatment at the scene.

The road has reopened to traffic.

Gardaí based in Milford are carrying out a full investigation into the cause of the crash.
