Lotto bosses have revealed the winning ticket was purchased in the midlands county with another player coming close to sharing it after they matched five numbers and the bonus.

Although they missed out on the top prize, this player will pocket a cool €61,382.

And the winning streak didn't stop there with a third player in Co Mayo picking up the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1m.

The Plus 1 numbers were: 6, 12, 15, 30, 35, 43 and the bonus was 42.

The National Lottery said that the exact locations where the tickets were sold will be revealed in the coming days and asked players to keep their tickets safe until then.

A spokesperson said: “We are asking everyone who bought a ticket for the draw to check their tickets carefully.

“If you are one of the winners of these prizes, stay calm and be sure to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place.

“The winners can contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize”
