Vicky Phelan has received a personalised card from the Late Late Toy Show star Adam King wishing her a speedy recovery.

The mum-of-two is currently stateside in Maryland, USA undergoing medical trials for her terminal cervical cancer diagnosis.

Speaking to her 72,500 Instagram followers, Vicky revealed that she had been catching up on some post when she saw that she had received a card from a “very, very important person in Ireland.”

This person was none other than Adam King, who stole the hearts of the nation back in November when he appeared on The Late Late Toy Show with his hand-drawn ‘virtual hug’.

Vicky was delighted to get a personalised card from Adam and took to Instagram to thank him.

She wrote: “Thank you Adam. I was very, very lucky to receive a personalised 'A Hug for You' card from the man himself, Adam King @adventures_wad, the star of the @latelaterte Toy Show.

“THANK YOU Adam for your beautiful card and for thinking of me. I was so delighted to get a card from you.

“I hope that you are feeling better after your recent stint in hospital. I am sending you my very best wishes for a speedy recovery from the USA,” she added.

This comes after 47-year-old Vicky got the go-ahead to travel home from the US this summer to see her children, Amelia and Darragh.

Announcing the news on social media, she said: “I really, really needed to hear that today. I have been struggling over the past two to three weeks because I could not see an end in sight or countdown to a specific date in the future when I would see my kids again.

“At least now I know that I will be heading home sometime in July which is only nine weeks away. I can DO that.”
