Two people have been rushed to hospital following a car crash in Tipperary.
On Thursday, a woman in her 20s was taken to University Hospital Limerick after a single-vehicle collision which left her seriously injured. Meanwhile a man in his 20s was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident happened on the N24 near Fawnagowan. The man was driving the vehicle, while the woman was a passenger in the car.
Gardaí have said that a technical examination is underway and diversions are in place.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single vehicle collision on the N24 near Fawnagowan in Tipperary, yesterday, 11th November 2021.”
"The collision occurred shortly after 3pm. The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger, a woman in her 20s, continues to receive treatment for serious injuries at University Hospital Limerick.
"The road will be closed for a period this morning, to allow for a technical examination. Investigations are ongoing."
