'Heartfelt condolences' Tributes paid to young dad and 'cherished husband' Barry Keenaghan killed in tragic accident

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a young dad who was killed in a tragic accident near Skerries in North County Dublin last weekend. 

Barry Keenaghan will be laid to rest on Thursday at Ardla cemetery, Skerries, following his funeral mass which will take place at 12 noon in St Patrick's Church.

A notice on RIP.ie states that Barry, of Milverton, Skerries, Co Dublin and formerly of Banagher, Co Offaly, died following a tragic accident on Sunday, March 7.

“Cherished husband and best friend of Nicola, adored and idolised father of his boys Conor and Rossa,” it reads. “He will be deeply missed and forever treasured by his parents, Kieran and Sheila, sister Kate, brothers Ray & Julian, sisters- in-law, brothers-in-law, mother-in-law, his nieces, nephews, extended family and circle of friends.

“We who loved you will watch for you in the night sky; for surely you will race across the heavens faster than any star.

“May Barry’s kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace.”

The local Man O'War Gaelic Football Club extended “heartfelt condolences to the Keenaghan and Bermingham families on the tragic passing of Barry Keenaghan."

“Thinking especially of Nicola, Conor and Rossa today,” the post reads. “Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.”

Those who would have liked to attend the funeral but due to restrictions could not were invited to leave personal messages for the family in the condolences section.

One wrote: “My deepest sympathy to Kieran and Sheila on the tragic death of your beloved son Barry, a very sad loss of a son, brother, beloved husband and an adored dad, may he rest in peace. Love and prayers.”

Another added: “Our deepest sympathy to Nicola, Conor and Rosssa ,Kieran, Sheila, Ray, Kate and Julian on the sad and untimely passing of your beloved Barry, our thoughts and prayers are with you all.”
