The daughters of an Irishman living in Australia, who tragically died in a road accident, have paid emotional tributes to their beloved dad.

Dwaine Edward Byrne, 52, originally from Mitchelstown Co Cork, had been living in Medina, near Perth in Western Australia where he worked in construction.

It was reported that he was involved in a serious road accident, involving a work utility vehicle on November 2, where he sustained serious injuries.

The Toyota Hilux Dwaine was a passenger in, flipped several times on the road before he was thrown from the car and the Cork man died later in hospital, according to news reports.

Writing on Facebook his devastated daughter Tara Byrne paid tribute to her beloved dad.

Posting a picture of the construction worker she wrote: “May you Rest In Peace Dad, I will always love you Dwaine Edward Byrne 1967-2020.”

While his daughter Christine wrote a loving message on Dwaine’s online book of condolences on RIP.ie.

“Forever in my heart dad you was (sic) a great father,” she wrote.

“And I’ll never forget that you gave me everything when I was young such as a job, a roof over our heads ... I know we had our ups and downs but just remember I’ll always love you.

“I can’t believe you're gone so quick, I wish this was just a bad nightmare; love you so, so much.”

The death notice announced that his funeral mass will take place in Australia over the coming days.

Condolences have started pouring in through the online platform, many from Irish people who Dwaine had looked after with work or accommodation, while they visited Australia.
