Latest figures Three further deaths and 525 new Covid-19 cases confirmed


There has been a further three Covid-19 related deaths while 525 new cases of the virus have been confirmed by the Department of Health this evening.

According to the Department, one of the deaths occurred in March and one in January.

This brings the Covid-19 death toll to 4,422 while the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland now stands at 223,219.

.Of the cases notified today, 271 are men and 254 are women.

A total of 214 of the new cases are in Dublin, 37 in Meath, 28 in Offaly, 28 in Limerick and 25 in Wicklow and the remaining 193 cases are spread across 19 other counties.

As of 8am today, 423 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 103 are in ICU. 14 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of March 4, 493,873 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland, with 346,256 people having received their first dose and 147,617 people have received their second dose.
