A young teenage girl was rushed to hospital last night after she collided with a van while out riding her scooter.

The incident happened at around 6pm yesterday, on Walkinstown Avenue in the Walkinstown area of Dublin 12.

Garda said “one van and one person riding a push scooter were involved in this collision”.

“The person riding the scooter, a female aged in her early teens, was conveyed to Crumlin Children’s Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained as a result of this collision,” they said.

They added that the road was closed for a short time following the incident “while the scene was being attended” but has since reopened.
