TD shares video of him being hit on his bike after DPP refuses to prosecute
A Galway TD has published a video showing the moment he was hit by a car while cycling his bike as he claimed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) refused to bring charges.
Taking to Twitter, Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon posted the clip and called for specially trained Gardai to “adjudicate expertly on road traffic violations using video evidence submitted via an online portal”.
The video shows the man cycling past the top of a road before a car turns to drive the road, hitting him and throwing him off his bike and onto the bumper of the car.
“This is my video evidence (local CCTV) and our DPP has decided it’s not sufficient to secure a prosecution,” he wrote, adding "#RoadSafety".
