Some sunny spells and mostly dry weather this weekend but some scattered showers
Sunny spells will dominate across this weekend with highs in the mid teens.
Most of the country will enjoy fine dry spells with just “stray showers” across this weekend, according to Met Éireann.
The showers over Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be most concentrated in the south and southwest but will be well scattered.
The weather across the weekend and much of next week will remain settled with mostly dry and clear spells and just well scattered showers at times.
Friday morning will be dry with hazy sunny spells developing before it becomes cloudier over parts of Munster and south Leinster through the afternoon.
Some well scattered outbreaks of rain will develop breezy with moderate to fresh east to northeast winds “taking the edge off the highest temperatures of 12C to 16C,” a Met Éireann forecaster said.
Saturday will be mostly dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, after a largely dry and clear Friday night. However, the chance of a few isolated showers will persist near southern coasts. Highest temperatures will again range from 12-16 degrees, coolest in the east.
“Sunday will again be dry and bright with sunny spells in most areas but it will be a little cloudier in the southwest where there will be some patchy light rain and drizzle at times. Highest temperatures of 13C to 16C, in mostly moderate easterly winds,” the forecaster said.
The start of next week will again bring dry weather with temperatures in the mid to high teens and only scattered rain or drizzle for the first half of the week.
Monday will be slightly more cloudy than the weekend but there will be occasional sunny spells as temperatures dip slightly with highs of 11-15C.
Tuesday will be a similar day with sunny spells in the morning but cloud will increase through the afternoon with a few light showers developing in the afternoon as temperatures again hit the mid teens.
There will be little change through the middle of next week with mostly dry conditions but it is likely to get a little cooler and unsettled later in the week.
