It’s the middle-aisle housecoat that shoppers are going crazy for - the heated coat that can ward off the coldest winter day.

The soft flannel fleece is going down a storm with Aldi shoppers, with the housecoat already sold out online.

The coat, which is heated at the back and has sleeves, features nine different temperature levels and timer settings.

Heated from a mains power source, it has a detachable cable and hand controller unit and overheating protection.

“Fight off the winter chills with this Kirkton House Heated Coat,” reads the description on Aldi’s website. “While the weather turns cold outside you can remain warm.

"This soft, cosy and heated coat not only looks great, but is practical too. All you have to do is wrap it around you, set your ideal temperature and enjoy that warm and cosy feeling.”

The heated throw with sleeves is retailing for £34.99 in the UK, with an Irish price to be confirmed.
