bus brawl Shocking footage shows vicious attack on Dublin Bus passenger


Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault which was filmed taking place on a Dublin Bus last night. 

Authorities were called to the scene by Dublin Bus to investigate a public order incident which took place on the bus on Priorwood Road, Coolock yesterday evening, at approximately 9.45pm.

The incident, which was captured on a phone camera and shared online, has been circulating on social media since late last night.

The footage shows a number of individuals boarding the parked bus and dragging an individual by the hair.

After what appeared to be a brief struggle the victim manages to escape briefly but is followed by a member of the group.

A series of blows then appear to be delivered to her before the video ends.

Dublin Bus confirmed the incident in a statement and said that the driver followed specific procedures set out by the company when the incident occurred.

“I can confirm that an incident took place onboard Route 27 yesterday evening at approximately 21:45. An Garda Síochána were contacted and attended the scene,” read the statement.

“All Dublin Bus employees are fully trained on the comprehensive procedures for dealing with incidents such as this.

“Each vehicle is equipped with a radio which allows immediate contact to our Central Control Centre.

“This means that the driver has immediate contact to a team of Dublin Bus Inspectors should assistance be required in any given situation. During this incident, the driver followed this procedure.”

Gardai also confirmed that they were called to the scene of the alleged assault.

In a statement they said: “Gardaí responded to reports of a public order incident which took place on a bus on Priorwood Road, Coolock yesterday evening, 26th November 2020 at approximately 9.45pm.

“Investigations are ongoing and no further information is available at this time.”
