SHOCK jock Adrian Kennedy has parted 'Waves' with Dublin radio station 98FM.

The station announced today that its mid morning phone-in show Dublin Talks has come to an end and presenters Adrian Kennedy and Jeremy Dixon are set to depart the station after seven years.

“I’d like to thank Adrian. Jeremy and the dedicated production team for their time at 98FM and their commitment to Dublin Talks,” said 98FM Programme Director Michael Brett.

“We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Following the announcement, Adrian tweeted an image of himself an his co-host enjoying a pint in Dublin City centre, writing:

"A takeaway pint following the announcement that today was our last Dublin Talks show on @98fm onwards and upwards!"

Earlier on, Adrian Kennedy had released a statement saying: “We’ve covered all the big Dublin and national news stories in a unique way – airing the opinions of the nation’s capital.

“We spent a very memorable two weeks ‘living in a box’ in the city centre during 98FM’s Code Red and we were honoured to host the station’s Best of Dublin awards.

"We’re most proud at having won two IMRO national radio awards along the way. Both Jeremy and I are already working on new projects in the future.”

98FM will be moving to a more music format from Monday, with The Sound of the city with Barry Dunne now broadcasting from 10am to 3pm, and The Big Ride Home with Brian Maher at the earlier time of 3pm.

Kennedy (54) was previously host and producer of the late night phone show on FM104, having taken over from Chris Barry.

In 2013 he and Dixon resigned from FM104 to take up a job offer with 98FM.

Kennedy married his second wife Linda in December 2017 and has two adult children from his first marriage.
