Fatal accident Second woman dies following tragic Good Friday road crash in Limerick

The woman, who was aged in her 40s, died in University Hospital Limerick yesterday after sustaining serious injuries in Friday’s accident.

A second woman has died following a collision outside Adare, Co. Limerick on Good Friday.

The accident happened at around 3pm on Good Friday on the N21 at Kilgobbin and involved a car and a jeep.

The driver of the jeep, who was in her 40s, died in University Hospital Limerick yesterday after sustaining serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been named as Mary Barry, a mother-of-four from Tralee.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted and investigations into the matter remain ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, particularly road users who may have camera footage, to come forward.
