LATE Late Show host Ryan Tubridy will tonight team up with country star Nathan Carter to perform a duet of White Christmas live on the show.

The eagerly awaited performance is part of the Late Late’s country music special this evening, which will also include an interview with American superstar Dolly Parton.

Daniel O’Donnell, Philomena Begley, Margo, Mike Denver and Una Healy are also among the home-grown stars of country who’ll be featured on the special show.

And The Three Amigos, Jimmy Buckley, Patrick Feeney and Robert Mizzell will give their first live performance their brand new single, From A Distance – the song made famous by Nanci Griffith.

This will be Tubridy’s second time to sing on the Late Late Show, as he previously sang King Of The Road with Daniel O’Donnell.

Prior to Covid-19, Ryan would regularly entertains guests during karaoke in the green room after the show singing songs of the legendary crooners, including his party piece, That’s Life.

“Tonight on the Late Late is going to be a bit of craic and I’m looking forward to singing with Ryan,” Nathan said today.

“Fair play to him, it takes courage to get up there and sing when it’s outside your comfort zone, but Ryan is not afraid to take risks and is a total professional.”

This year’s Late Late country music special will be different to previous years due to Covid restrictions, with less performers and guests and no audience.

However, with the new format introducing virtual guests every week, it’s a bonus to have country queen Dolly Parton joining Ryan tonight.

“Everyone is just so excited to have Dolly on the show,” an insider says. “She’s the real queen of country and a crossover music superstar. It doesn’t get better than Dolly.”
