Reform of health services
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has announced the establishment of a significant step in the reform of Irish health and maternity services.
Last night he said the Expert Review body for the independent review of nursing and midwifery had recently commenced work in line with last year's Labour Court recommendations.
Chaired by Dr Moling Ryan, the body will be made up of members with expertise in national and international health and healthcare technology.
It also includes representatives of staff and employers. It will be supported by submissions from stakeholders.
Donnelly said that the establishment of the bodymarks the beginning of reforms in the healthcare sector.
