A regional radio station has launched a dedicated Christmas programme with just eight weeks to go until the big day.

Athlone based radio station iRadio has began broadcasting its dedicated digital channel which streams only Christmas music.

Titled “iLoveChristmas”, festive made fans can jingle their way through to November on the iRaido App or through their Alexa advice.

Station bosses have promised all the iconic classic hits like Fairytale of New York and Band Aid will be added to playlist.

The festive cheer will run non-stop, 24/7 until the New Year.

iRadio CEO Mark Cunning said that given the year we have had, we could all use some Christmas cheer.

“2020 has been a really tough year for all of us, and even though we're still eight weeks out from the big day, we could all do with a bit of festive cheer in our lives, which iLoveChristmas will provide," he said.

“We've wanted to launch a Christmas channel for a long time now and listeners can expect the best of the best Christmas tunes, to really get you into that holiday spirit."
