witness appeal Motorist (40s) killed after car collides with wall in Co Dublin





A man was tragically killed in a horror car accident in Skerries this afternoon. 

The motorist, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene when his car collided with a wall shortly after midday today.

The incident occurred on the Skerries to Lusk Road (R127) in Milverton near Skerries, Co. Dublin.

No other vehicles were involved in the fatal crash.

After Gardaí attended the scene of the accident, the man’s body was removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.

The road has reopened after a temporary closure to facilitate Forensic Collision Investigators.

“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them,” a Garda spokesperson has said.

“Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who was driving on the Skerries to Lusk (R127) road between 11.45am and 12.15pm who may have camera (dash-cam) footage to make it available.

“Anyone with any information in relation to this collision should contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01 802 0510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”

Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
