Ireland is in for a wet and windy week ahead with “unsettled” conditions, Met Éireann has predicted.
From tonight, a blanket of rain will spread across parts of Leinster and Ulster but it will become drier in Connacht and Munster.
Clearer conditions will extend to most of the country by Monday morning ahead of a cold and bright day with some scattered showers and hailstones.
Highest temperatures will reach between five to nine degrees with fresh breezes coming from the northwest before becoming cooler on Monday night with touches of frost as temperatures drop to between zero and three degrees.
Tuesday will begin dry and clear in most areas with some scattered showers and bright spells.

However, a further spell of heavy rain will extend from the Atlantic later in the day with a risk of flooding.
The national forecaster also predicts a contrast in temperatures from north to south, ranging between five to eight degrees in northern counties and between nine to 11 degrees in the south.
Met Éireann meteorologist, Mark Bowe said: “With further low-pressure systems moving our way early next week there is the potential for further spells of wet and windy weather.
“We’re keeping a close eye on Tuesday in particular as there are signs of heavy rain in the forecast.
“With ground levels already waterlogged this could lead to some localised impacts from flooding, so stay keep an eye on the latest forecast and warnings from Met Éireann for your area.”
Wednesday is set to be another windy and rainy day with scattered showers and drizzle.
Some bright and sunny spells will occur, especially in southern counties, with strong and gusty winds developing.
Feeling mild with highest temperatures reaching between 11 to 14 degrees before turning cold on Wednesday night.
