sweet n' green McDonald's announces return of the iconic Shamrock Shake for Irish customers
'Aye it’s ab time (for) that Shamrock shake touch down'
McDonald's Ireland has announced that their iconic Shamrock Shake is making a comeback ahead of St Patrick’s Day.
The limited-edition shake that features a creamy vanilla soft serve, blended with delicious Shamrock Shake flavouring will be available from tomorrow until March 17.
“It's sweet, green, and iconic for a reason,” McDonalds declared as they revealed that the Shamrock Shake will be available to purchase in their restaurants across Ireland for dine-in and walk-in takeaway, and McDonald’s Drive Thru while stocks last.
McDonald's started selling the Shamrock Shake in 1970.

But since it is a seasonal drink, the drink is taken off the menu some days after St Patrick’s Day.
The fast food chain had also previously unveiled variations of the shake.
McDonald's first debuted the Shamrock Sundae in 1980, which is made up of vanilla ice cream and a mint green Shamrock syrup on top.
Due to low sales, the product was withdrawn after one year.
McDonald's launched other Shamrock Shake versions in 2017, including the Shamrock Chocolate Shake, Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappé, Shamrock Mocha, and Shamrock Hot Chocolate.
Last year the Shamrock Shake was released on February 15, about a month before St Patrick’s Day.
There has already been some anticipation online for the return of the Shamrock Shake with one particular fan declaring on Twitter: “only 2 more months until the shamrock shake is back!”
Another adds: “Aye it’s ab time that Shamrock shake touch down.”
Another adds: “let me have my McDonalds shamrock shake year round.”
