An Irishman who emigrated to Canada over two decades ago has brought a little slice of home with him by recreating a traditional Irish boozer in his garage.

Kieron Daly built the amazing looking pub at his home near the shores of Lake Huron, Ontario.

The quaint establishment boasts all the trappings of your typical Irish watering hole, including proper pub stools, a wooden bar top, Guinness advertising and signage and, of course, a Guinness tap.

Daly revealed that he and his wife have been working on the pub, called The Celt, for two years and had it finished just in time before the pandemic kicked in.

A printing industry worker, he was even able to create an optical illusion using prints of whiskey barrels which makes it look like there's a giant whiskey cellar attached to the pub.

He explained: "My cottage is just a small two-bedroom cottage, but the whole idea of having the pub there is just amazing - it's a getaway.

"I feel like I've gone back and visited the family. I usually pull my laptop out and get them out on Zoom, and they know I'm behind the bar having a few beers. It's kind of cool."

Even the floor of the pub is covered in a cobblestone style print to remind him of the streets back home.

A member of a band called Brazen Angels, Daly and his bandmates have performed at The Celt on many occasions providing their own music and keeping the spirit of true Irish craic alive – even if it is thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
