A man is being quizzed by gardai following the seizure of cannabis herb with an estimated value of €114,000 in Navan last week. 

The man was arrested this morning by gardai in Meath following the search of a residence that was carried out on Friday, October 8.

Gardaí attached to the Meath Divisional Drugs Unit executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977 as part of Operation Tara.

“During the course of the search, cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €114,000 (subject to analysis) was seized by gardaí, along with drug paraphernalia,” gardai said.

“This morning, Friday, October 15, a man aged in his 50s, was arrested by gardaí in connection with this seizure.

“He is currently detained at Trim Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996.”

Gardai said the drugs seized will now be sent for further analysis.

They added that investigations are ongoing.
