Man (70s) dies after being hit by car in Cahir, Co Tipperary

A man in his 70s died after being hit by a car in a Tipperary town on Sunday evening.
The tragedy occurred on Castle Street in Cahir at approximately 5.50pm.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he later passed away. The driver of the car was uninjured.
Gardaí says the local coroner has been notified and a post-mortem will be carried out.

Castle Street remains closed this morning to allow for a technical examination of the scene by Forensic Collision Investigators with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
