Fatal assault Man (60s) dies after attack at home in Firhouse, Dublin

A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to Tallaght Garda Station where he is currently detained

A man in his 60s has died after an assault at a house in Firhouse, south Dublin, late last night.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the home in Carriglea View in Dublin 24 at approximately 11.50pm on Sunday.

They discovered a man had been attacked and he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on Monday 21st June 2021.

His body remains at the house and a post-mortem will take place later today.

The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination is being carried out.

A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to Tallaght Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this incident to come forward. Gardaí are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Carriglea View area of Firhouse, Dublin 24 yesterday evening between 11.30pm and 12.30am to come forward.
