Tragic accident Man (40s) killed in crash in Mallow, Co Cork

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

A man in his 40s has died after a fatal crash Cork on Tuesday afternoon, An Garda Síochána have confirmed.

Gardaí attended the scene of the single-vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 3.25pm, on the N72 at Lombardstown, Mallow.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The road was closed yesterday evening pending a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

They are also asking for any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area at this time to make this available to Gardaí.
