Man (40s) dies in tragic two car road crash in Limerick

A man in his 40s has died following a tragic two car road crash in Limerick.
The collision occurred at approximately 10am on Thursday at the junction of Old Cratloe Road and Woodcockhill Road, Limerick.
The man, who was a passenger in one car, was killed in the crash. His body has been taken from the scene for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile the driver, a man in his mid 20s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle, a man in his late 60s was uninjured.
The road remains closed as Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.

In a statement a garda spokesperson said they are appealing for witnesses.
“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.”
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Old Cratloe Road or Woodcockhill Road, Limerick between 9.30am and 10am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.”
