Gardaí in Tallaght are now appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in south Dublin on Saturday night.
The incident took place shortly after 11pm when the pedestrian, a 31-year-old man, was seriously injured after being struck by a car on the Blessington Road in Tallaght.
Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the scene and the man was taken to Tallaght Hospital by ambulance.
His condition is not thought to be life-threatening and the driver of the car was uninjured.
Gardaí in Tallaght are now appealing for witnesses to come forward and are also appealing to any road users with video footage from the location at the time of the collision to make it available to them.
