Man (20s) dies following fatal road crash in Co Clare

A man in his 20s has died following a fatal road crash in Co Clare.

Gardaí rushed to to the scene of the two-car collision on the outskirts of Bodyke village at approximately 5.45am this morning.

One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.

The R352 road between Bodyke and Ennis is currently closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene.

In a statement, a Gardaí spokesperson said: “Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the outskirts of Bodyke village in Co. Clare this morning, Wednesday 12th January 2022 at approximately 5.45am.”

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
