Road death Man (20) killed in motorbike accident in Dublin city centre

The tragedy took place around 3.45am between Inns Quay and Ormond Quay.

A 20-year-old man died in a motorbike crash in Dublin city centre this morning.

The tragedy took place around 3.45am at Inns Quay.

Gardai and emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly before 4am.

The motorcyclist died at the scene after his bike left the road and struck a lamp post.

There were no other vehicles involved.

The road was sealed off for forensic examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since fully reopened to traffic.

A garda spokesperson said: "The Coroner has been notified and the body of the deceased has been removed to Dublin City Morgue for a post-mortem examination."

Investigating GardaĆ­ are appealing for witnesses and to anyone with camera footage (including dashcam) from the crash site to contact them. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridewell Garda Station 01 6668200 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
