Doughnut chain Krispy Kreme are set to open a second store in Ireland next week.

The franchise already has a flagship store in Blanchardstown which opened in 2018.

When the store opened it facilitated a 24 hour drive-through. However, as it saw so much traffic coming through, they were forced to introduce a curfew to prevent disturbing locals.

The following year in 2019, the Blanchardstown store was named the chain’s best-performing store in the world.

Swords will be home to the newest Krispy Kreme location, opening their doors in the Pavilions Shopping Centre on Thursday November 25th at 8am.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are also stocked at certain Tesco and Circle K stores across Ireland.

Country Manager of the franchise for Ireland, Declan Foley, said: “Anticipation in Swords has been building over the last few weeks and we can’t wait to unveil our spectacular new store to the people of Swords and beyond.”

“Our No.1 Krispy Kreme fan, Becky Russell from Lusk, will officially cut the ribbon on opening morning,” he added.

“We have seen incredible love for the brand in Ireland since opening our Blanchardstown Store in 2018 and more recently with our introduction to participating Tesco and Circle K Stores.

"Our new Krispy Kreme store in Swords Pavilions will bring even more smiles to our customers and demonstrates our commitment to bringing the joy of Krispy Kreme to the Irish market for the long-term.”

Last week, shoppers at the centre were surprised with some secret sampling of doughnuts. Queues of people lined up to try some of the brand’s famous Original Glazed doughnuts.

The branch will stock fan favourites including Chocolate Sprinkles, Lotus Biscoff, Chocolate Dreamcake, Glazed Raspberry and Nutty Chocolatta. Limited edition products including the seasonal Billionaires Cheesecake and Black Forest will also be available.
