Kildare councillor Bill Clear has hit out after his wife and sister-in-law were soaked in barbecue sauce by a driver.

His wife, Anne-Marie, and her sister, Catherine, were walking along Sallins Road in Kildare at 8pm last night when they were approached by a man in a silver golf.

While hanging out the car window, the man then threw barbecue sauce at them covering their face and clothes, before they sped off.

Taking to social media last night, Cllr Clear appealed for anyone with dash cam footage from the area to get in touch after the incident was reported to Gardaí.

“My wife and sister were walking on Sallins rd/Hollywood park @ 8pm. A silver golf approached them with a guy hanging out the window.

"He threw a load of barbecue sauce at them and sped off. Got their clothes and face.”

“Guards involved. Do you have dash cam fm last night Sallins rd,” he wrote.

Gardaí in Naas have also confirmed that they are investigating the incident.
