Ireland’s first baby born in 2022 arrived into the world at just a second past midnight on January 1st.
The beautiful baby girl was born at National Maternity Hospital in Holles Street.
Meanwhile, the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin welcomed its first baby born in 2022, too.
Baby Carter was the first baby born at the maternity hospital this year.

Born to proud parents Ciara and Graham Claxton from Hollystown, Dublin, the bouncing baby made his way into the world at 1.37am.
The hospital welcomed their first Christmas Day baby of 2021 on December 25th.
The adorable baby girl was born at 02:48am to parents Aoife and Gary McCormack.
