The party season among Rathkeale’s traveller-traders got underway in spectacular fashion with one young couple’s engagement bash featuring a massive stash of booze.

In a video, tables are shown covered in dozens and dozens of bottles of spirits with boxes of beers also stacked high.

Mixers filled an entire cupboard with a freezer also shown full of ice ready for the guests.

Perched up beside the kettle and bread bin is a Jagermeister machine that produces ice-cold shots for thirsty drinkers.

The house is better stocked that the average off-licence with dozens of bottles of popular spirits brands including Jack Daniels, Famous Grouse, Smirnoff vodka , Tullamore Dew and Jameson.

With at least two five-litre whiskey bottles also on show, revellers were unlikely to run out of the hard stuff before the party’s end.

The man who got engaged commented on social media as a versions of the video circulated with different sounds tracks: “It was some sesh!”

Dozens of people congratulated the young couple on their engagement and wished them well for the future.

Many the traveller-trader families who work abroad for most of the year return to Ireland for the Christmas period and host parties to celebrate weddings, engagements and christenings.
