Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Louth last month.

The incident took place near Dooley’s Pub and Restaurant on the N2 in Edmonstown, Co. Louth shortly before 8.30pm on Saturday, September 11th and involved a car and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man in his early 20s, was critically injured and later passed away on September 13th.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the N2 on Saturday September 11th between 8pm and 8.30pm and who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

They are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam footage, covering the N2 near Dooley’s Pub and Restaurant between 8pm and 8.30pm to make this available.

An Garda Síochána are reminding the public that September 11th was the same day as the All-Ireland football final between Mayo and Tyrone, and it is likely that many Tyrone spectators would have been using the N2 returning from the game.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Ardee Garda Station on (041) 6853222, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
