Gardaí have said they are investigating “all the circumstances” surrounding the discovery of a young man’s body on the side of a road in Co Wexford. 

Gardaí were called to the scene at Fort Road Gorey just after 4am this morning where they found the man, who was in his 20s, lying by the roadside

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and a full Garda investigation is now underway.

The body remains at the scene this morning and the area has been cordoned off for a full technical examination.

Neither the age nor the identity of the man has been disclosed.

Gardai said they attended the scene at Fort Road, Gorey at 3.45am this morning, where they discovered the deceased man (he was in his mid 20s).

“His body remains at scene and investigations are ongoing,” gardai said.

“A file will be prepared for the Coroners Court."
