no injuries Gardai launch probe after lone gunman fires shots on Sheriff Street
GARDAÍ have confirmed they were called to investigate reports of shots being fired by a lone gunman in Dublin’s north inner-city last night.
Officers rushed to the scene after receiving reports that a weapon had been fired on Sheriff Street Lower, Dublin 1, last night at approximately 8:40pm.
It is understood that the gunman fired three shots into the air before fleeing the scene on an electric scooter.
Tensions have been high in the area in recent weeks following a series of violent clashes between rival groups on both sides of the Liffey.
However, it is not yet known if last night's reported shooting is linked to these ongoing tensions.
