Gardai are continuing to investigate what has been described as a suspected arson attack in Kilmallock in the early hours of this morning.

Two appliances from Kilmallock Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at Millmount, Kilmallock at 3.52am.

The fire was put out around an hour later and they returned to base at 5.13am

There was extensive damage to the property although there are no reports of any injuries.

According to the Limerick Leader, a Garda spokesperson confirmed they were "investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred in Kilmallock".

Gardai remain at the scene this morning.

“Gardaí and Emergency Services attended the scene of a fire at a premises in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick on November 9,” gardai added.

“No injuries have been reported and investigations are ongoing."
