RIP Gardaí appeal for witnesses after woman (50s) dies in Dublin 12 crash

A woman has died after being struck by a car in Dublin in the early hours of Sunday morning.

At approximately 1.45am on Sunday, gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of a crash at Davitt Road in Drimnagh, Dublin 12 involving a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Her body has since been removed to Dublin City Morgue, Whitehall where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The scene has been examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since reopened.

Investigating gardaí at Sundrive Road are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly appealing to anyone with camera footage (including dashcam) from the Davitt Road area between 1am and 1.45am to contact them.
