Kind and friendly Funeral takes place for Wicklow dad Christopher Miley killed in work accident

Tributes have continued to flow in for Wicklow dad-of-three Christopher Miley who was laid to rest today after he died in a workplace accident.

Described as a "very kind and friendly lad", Christopher passed away while working at a quarry and recycling facility in Rathcoole, Co Dublin, on October 28.

His funeral took place this afternoon at Joseph’s Church, Valleymount in Co Wicklow.

His death notice on RIP.ie states that “the death has occurred of Christopher (Christy) Miley of Carrigacurra, Valleymount, Wicklow”.

"Tragically. Loving partner of Shelly, and devoted daddy to Heidi, Maisie and Harlow,” it adds.

“Deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents Eddie and Freda, brother Michael, sisters Mary and Anne, and Anne's partner Joe, brother-in-law Jack, sister in law Kate, all members of the Keating, Miley and Loughlin families, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and wide circle of friends.

“Removal to St Joseph’s Church, Valleymount, arriving for 1pm Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 3, followed by burial in Baltyboys Cemetery."

The notice adds that the family has offered a “thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and support during this sensitive time".

Numerous people have paid tribute to Christopher in the condolences section.

“Sincerely sympathy to Shelly, girls and all the Miley family on Christopher's tragic death, may he rest in peace,” reads one.

“Our deepest condolences to Shelly, Heidi, Maisie, Harlow and the Miley & Keating families,” adds another. “We are heartbroken for you all & are thinking of you.”

“Sincere sympathy to the Miley family on the sad passing of a very kind and friendly lad,” one person has written.

“He was always talking about his little girls, the pony and sheep, while he filled the oil tank. We were so glad to have known Christy. May he rest in peace.”

The HSA and gardai are investigating the incident.

A Garda spokesman previously said that gardai and emergency services had attended the scene of an incident in which a man, 30s, was fatally injured at a premises in Rathcoole, Co Dublin on Thursday, October 28.
