RIP Funeral details announced for Trinity College student found dead in library

A student who died suddenly at Trinity College Dublin last week will be laid to rest on Wednesday.

Mark Melnychuk (24), from Castlebar and formerly of Andrushivka, Ukraine, passed away on Wednesday, 23rd February.

According to The University Times, he was found dead in the Ussher library on the Dublin university's campus.

The fourth year medical student is survived by his parents Olga and Gennadiy and sister Ilona.

He will repose at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Tuesday 1st March from 6pm to 10pm.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday 2nd March at 12pm in Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar followed by a burial in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.

A notice on RIP.ie reads: “The death has occurred of Mark Melnychuk, 40 Lios na Circe, Saleen, Castlebar and formerly of Andrushivka, Ukraine aged 24 years on Wednesday 23rd February 2022.

“Dearly loved only son of Olga and Gennadiy and loving brother of Ilona.

“Mark will be sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, sister, grandmothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and many friends. May he rest in peace.

“Mark will repose at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Tuesday 1st March from 6pm to 10pm.

“Removal from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11.30am arriving at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar for Funeral Mass at 12 noon.

"Afterwards Mark will be laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.”
