The husband of Euromillions winner Dolores McNamara is to be laid to rest at a private service on Saturday morning.

Former bricklayer Adrian McNamara, who was in his late 60s, passed away yesterday following a short illness at his son Lee’s home in Co Clare.

Dolores McNamara became world-famous when she won a €115m Euromillions jackpot in 2005 - a record breaking win at the time.

Following the huge win, the McNamaras bought a large property and estate in Ogonnolloe, overlooking Lough Derg, called Lough Derg Hall.

Ms McNamara purchased the 10,000 sq ft hill-top property for €1.75m in 2005, after it had reportedly attracted the interest of Hollywood actor Robert De Niro.

Adrian was a popular figure locally and had been involved in horse racing.

Adrian's funeral service will now held in St. Flannan's Church, Killaloe on Saturday at 12 noon, followed by burial in New cemetery.

His death notice reads: "Sadly missed by his loving wife Delores, sons Gary, Dean and Lee, daughters Dawn, Kim and Kevanne; grandchildren Nicole, Jadye, Luke, Katelyn, Rhys, Tori, Tegan, Lexi and Tiernan, son-in-law Jeffrey, daughters-in-law Michelle and Vicky; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends."
