Thurles attack Five men arrested by gardai investigating serious assault on a man in Co Tipperary

Five men have been arrested by gardai investigating a serious assault on a man in Thurles, Co Tipperary. 

Four of the men who are aged in their 20s and one in his teens were arrested today following the assault of a man is his 20s at Upperchurch Village in Thurles on Sunday, June 2021.

They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a number of Tipperary Garda Stations.

Gardai said earlier appealed to the public for information after the victim was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.

Gardaí also appealed to any road users, who may have camera footage, that were travelling in the Upperchurch Village area between the hours of 11pm on Sunday, June 27, and 12.30am on Monday, June 28, to make this footage available to gardaí.
